Deacon Jacob Stinnett’s Biography

Deacon Jacob Antonio Stinnett was born on May 20, 1996, to Mark and Nancy Stinnett. Jacob was baptized at Immaculate Conception Church by Monsignor Missimi on July 7, 1996.

From kindergarten through 8th grade, Deacon Jacob attended Immaculate Conception School, where he made his First Holy Communion on May 2, 2004. While at IC, he participated in Boy Scouts, track volleyball, school musicals, piano lessons and science olympiad.

Deacon Jacob was confirmed by Bishop Frederick Campbell on Feb. 14, 2010, when he took his confirmation name of Francis after St. Francis of Assisi. At the end of 8th grade, he began to discern a calling to the priesthood.

Deacon Jacob attended St. Charles Preparatory High School. While in high school, he volunteered at the Columbus Zoo and participated in In the Know competitions. After his high school graduation, he began Seminary life at The Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, OH. He graduated from the college with a bachelor’s art degree with a double major in philosophy and humanities in 2017. Later that fall, he began studying in the school of Theology in anticipation of his ordination in May 2021.

On June 12, 2020, Deacon Jacob was ordained a transitional deacon.
