The St. Vincent de Paul Society’s Thanksgiving Day Food Collection amassed more than 2,000 items of food. The overwhelming generosity of IC parishioners is deeply appreciated!
Building on a donation of 20 cases of Mac-n-Cheese, the collection accounted for more than 1,000 boxes; building on a donation of 485 cans of vegetables, soups etc., from a Boy Scout collection, St. Vincent de Paul received nearly a 1,000 cans of food.
A rough estimate is that parishioners donated well over 500 boxes of pasta, hamburger helper, boxed potato mixes etc.
These donations will quickly go to people in need. What cannot be stored in IC’s small pantry has been brought to the food pantries of Sacred Hearts in Cardington and Clintonville Resources Center where needs are great.
A debt of gratitude is owed to the IC Knights of Columbus for conducting the collection.
