National Natural Family Planning Awareness Week: July 19-25

Natural Family Planning Awareness Week is a national educational campaign, which runs from July 19-25.

The dates of Natural Family Planning Awareness Week highlight the anniversary of the papal encyclical Humanae Vitae (July 25) which articulates Catholic beliefs about human sexuality, conjugal love and responsible parenthood.  The dates also mark the feast of Saints Joachim and Anne (July 26), the parents of the Blessed Mother.

For additional resources through the Diocese of Columbus, visit If you have any further questions, email or call Office of Marriage and Family Life at 614-241-2560.

Natural Family Planning (NFP) is a general term for methods of achieving or postponing pregnancy based upon observation of the natural indicators of fertile and infertile times in a woman’s menstrual cycle. NFP is a holistic approach to reproductive health and responsible parenthood.
