IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW In the Spring of 2025, it was decided in our Diocese to lower the Confirmation age to 4th grade. You can learn more about why this decision was made by watching the video below.
- Immaculate Conception Parish and School will implement a stair-step approach over the next few years to achieve this goal. Confirmation Liturgies are still planned to happen in the winter; however no definitive date has been set at this time. Please refer to the timeline below:
2027 – 7th and 8th Graders
2028 – 6th and 7th Graders
2029 – 5th and 6th Graders
2030 – 4th and 5th Graders
2031 and Beyond – 4th Graders
However, if you see readiness in your child to receive the sacrament of Confirmation prior to the listed age schedule, please feel free to reach out to the parish office.
Requirements for Confirmation for 2026/2027:
- Parent night: September 2, 2026, at 7 p.m. in Marian Hall.
- Attend all formation classes held on the following Sundays. These classes are intended for the student and parent; these sessions complement one another and are presented separately but during the same time.
- September 13, 2026, 9:45 – 10:45 a.m.
- September 20, 2026, 9:45 – 10:45 a.m.
- September 27, 2026, 9:45 – 10:45 a.m.
- October 4, 2026, 9:45 – 10:45 a.m.
- October 11, 2026, 9:45 – 10:45 a.m.
- October 18, 2026, 9:45 – 10:45 a.m.
- There is a Confirmation retreat for the students held at Damacus Catholic Mission camp located in Centerburg, Ohio. This is an overnight weekend camp held October 31 through November 1, 2026. There will be a fee for non-Immaculate Conception School students to attend this retreat. Registration for this camp will be required; Non-Immaculate Conception School students should contact Mary Ann Rivera for registration information at marivera@iccols.org for both the retreat and registering for Confirmation preparation.
