The Diocese of Columbus has engaged the services of Catholic Leadership Institute (CLI) to assist Bishop Fernandes with discerning goals to more effectively address his pastoral priorities:
• Vocations
• Evangelization
• Catholic Education and Formation
• Social Outreach
In the discernment of pastoral priorities, it is the bishop who brings forth these issues for consultation. This is done while allowing the faithful to share their pastoral needs in the form of a survey. This survey will allow many more of the faithful to share their thoughts surrounding these priorities, and those responses will be incorporated into the reviewed feedback.
Remember the Disciple Maker Index (DMI) that the diocese participated in during Lent 2021. The DMI will be offered again during the coming Advent and Christmas Seasons. Readministering the DMI will give the diocese a unique opportunity to compare where we are today with where we were about five years ago. Among other insights, they hope to better understand the effectiveness of the recent efforts in evangelization by increasing parishioners’ comfortability with sharing our Catholic faith.
